Atei Special Purpose Battalion

Become part of the ATEI legend

About us

  • The ATEI Special Purpose Battalion is a combat unit of the National Guard of Ukraine within the 28th Chornobyl Regiment (military unit 3041). The unit was formed in early 2024 as part of the expansion of the 1st Separate Battalion for the Protection of Particularly Important State Facilities to regimental level.
  • In 2025, the battalion passed a key stage of development: it merged with the ATEI special unit, created on February 11, 2023 and made up of fighters from temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. For them, this war is not only about the state, but also about the home that remains under occupation. After the merger in 2025, this core became the foundation of the new battalion.
  • In November 2025, Major Yevhen Bezsmertnyi, call sign Skif, who had previously commanded the ATEI special unit, was appointed battalion commander. Under his leadership, the unit underwent a deep internal transformation and formed a new identity. This is not just a change of name. It is a change of approach, character and inner code.
  • ATEI is a battalion shaped by war. The unit brings together people with real combat experience, high motivation and a personal reason to fight. Fighters of the ATEI Battalion have combat experience on the most difficult sectors of eastern Ukraine.
  • Since its creation, the battalion has carried out combat missions continuously, combining service on the northern border with active combat work in eastern Ukraine. Its main task in the north is countering sabotage and landing threats, protecting critical areas and ensuring the security of border districts. At the same time, from the first months of its existence, the battalion has been involved in combat operations on the eastern front, in zones of the most intense confrontation.

Important

Service in the battalion is not a trial period and not a chance to simply see how it goes. It is a responsibility that affects not only you, but also the people around you.
We do not work with candidates who are not ready for discipline and following orders, are looking for an easier service option, are not ready for training and workload, have left their unit without authorization, have any addictions, including alcohol, drugs or other dependencies, or do not pass the interview. Addictions are incompatible with military service and unit safety.
